Welcome! This site introduces classes hosted by the Funabashi International Relations Association (FIRA) where you can learn Japanese and foreign languages. Please choose the style of class you want to join.FIRA’s activities are supported by membership and entry fees. High school students and above are required to be members of the association in the following classes. There is a fee for all classes. Please read the rules, costs, and contents of the program carefully before applying.

Face-to-face Japanese classes
(high school students and above)

Lessons will be held at public halls and association salons. Students will learn the basics of Japanese language in eight levels so that they can converse in daily life.
Textbooks: “Minna no Nihongo”, etc.

Study through Zoom.Students will learn the basics of Japanese language in eight levels so that they can converse in daily life situations.

Nihongo Hiroba
(Adult foreigners and Japanese)

There is an “Online Hiroba” by Zoom and a “Taimen Hiroba” at the association salon.This is a gathering place for people who have studied Japanese and who want to improve their Japanese while participating in conversations and cultural exchanges.

Short-term Japanese language training course
(adult)

Held twice a week. You will study 18 daily conversations in 3 months along with Hiragana, Katakana, and 50 Kanjis.

Chikyuu-ko, Children’s Japanese Class
(From the first grade of elementary school to the third year of junior highschool)

Lessons will be held at Tobu Public Hall and through Zoom.Starting immediately after arriving in Japan until the child is able to read school textbooks with furigana in them.
Textbooks: “Kodomo no Nihongo”, WEB learning materials, etc.

Foreign language course
(high school students and above)

To be held at the FIRA Salon or through ZoomYou may be able to relearn English / Practical English / Basic Chinese / Intermediate Chinese. Lessons are held once a week for a total of 10 times.The offered languages may be subject to change.Textbooks: the instructor may prepare the textbooks beforehand or ask you to purchase them.

FIRA welcomes the participation of foreigners. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming an interpreter / translation volunteer, exchange event planning volunteer, cooking class instructor, foreign language course instructor, international understanding seminar planning, foreigher support volunteer for disasters, etc.
